2. Nepal.
v3.c35.s17.1
2. Nepal is the next large kingdom in the Himalayan region whose history in the first sub-period (600 to 800), we have given in the first volume. In the second volume we stated that in the second sub-period (800-1000) reigned in Nepal a Rajput kingly family which founded the Nepal era (885 A. D.) which is still in use in Nepal. In the third sub-period (1000-1200) the same family appears to have ruled in Nepal unmolested by either Hindu or Mahomedan kings and we have found nothing particular which may be recorded of these kings. We, therefore, proceed to the minor kingdoms intervening between Kashmir and Nepal of which many important particulars have come to light in recent research.
