The Matsya declares that Ramaṇaka is a varṣa north of Niṣadha and south of Nila (chapter 113, paras 60, 61) but the Hiraṇyavat Varṣa is placed in its traditional position, between the Sveta and the Śṛṅgavān. The Garuḍa Purāṇa places Ramyaka northwest of Meru (55,2) and Brahma Purāṇa locates it north of Ilāvṛta.
