The high peak between the Kumuda and Sahasra Sikhara mountains is located where the Hissar and Zarafshan ranges meet. This peak appears to be the snow-covered Peak Barzengi (16,456 feet) beyond the Pakshif pass. The Purāṇas attached sanctity to the peak by associating it with the Āśrama of Sankarācārya.
