I. 2, p. 88. They are of some sacrificial tree such as palāśa, kārśmarya, khadira, udumbara &c. They may be undried or dried but must have the bark on. The middle one is the thickest, that to the south is the longest, that to the north is the thinnest and shortest. Vide Āp. I. 5. 7-10 and Kāt. II. 8. 1 for paridhis.
