In the Panchobh copper-plate inscription of Samgramgupta, Superintendents of kine, buffaloes, goats and mares are mentioned (*gomahiṣābivāḍhyakṣādi*). The inscription probably is not later than the 12th century A.D. See *Journal of the Bihar Orissa Research Society*, Vol. V, Part IV, p. 589.
