Jaleśvara—a tīrtham in the Amarakantaka hill of Kalinga, fit for piṇḍatarpaṇam. When Śiva was burning Tripura ruthlessly, Bāṇa appeared with a liṅga on his head when the Lord blessed him with life. Hence the sanctity of the place. M. 186. 15-38; 187. 3-52; Ch. 188 (whole).
