### [v1.c10.s1.20](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.reference.ghosh-1989.v1.c10.s1.20)

On the basis of the circumstantial association of the OCW \[11.5\] which has been found in pre-PGW \[11.14\] levels and 'may well antedate 1200 B.C.' the Copper Hoards \[4.11\] have been dated before the middle of the 2nd millennium B.C. (Lal, 1951, pp. 20-31; 1953, p. 93). At the same time some of the items from among the Copper Hoards were connected with examples from the Caucasus region and Iran (Allchin and Allchin, 1968, pp. 152-3). In fact analogies were noticed with Iranian types in some of pottery and designs of the Chalcolithic cultures of c. India and the Deccan \[4.14.5, 6\] which was also used as evidence corroborating the chronology as inferred from stratigraphical position of the Chalcolithic deposits in relation to datable historical period deposits.
