### [v1.c10.s1.7](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.reference.ghosh-1989.v1.c10.s1.7)

The entire approach to the prehistoric material in India was thus the typological classification of objects based on morphology of the tool types and formulating an evolutionary model, followed by examining the material in relation to the stratigraphical sequence and arriving at a relative date. The same applies to the dating of the Middle and Upper Palaeolithic cultures \[4.3, 4\] which are placed in the Late Pleistocene.
