It is only from the full-fledged Copper-Bronze \[4.7\] and Chalcolithic \[4.14\] ages that the data in respect of beads become abundant and varied. All phases of the Harappa culture \[4.9,10\] and several regional Chalcolithic cultures \[4.14\] evidenced in Rajasthan, c. India, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Andhra-Karnataka have proved to be rich in beads though the Harappa is the richest, both in number and variety.
