Amongst the tool types lunates, trapezes and triangles are generally found in very limited numbers because, forming as they do a part of the hunting gear, they have only a limited use in a food-producing economy. Sankalia’s experiments, 1967, with the blade tools from the NAVDATOLI collections have shown that these can serve a variety of purposes involving scraping, cutting, slicing and paring of soft materials like vegetables, fruits, corn-stalks and wood. It is very probable that most of these artefacts were hafted in wood or bone to form composite tools/weapons like sickles, knives, harpoons, etc.
