NĀLANDĀ, four specimens, all late historical. NL1 is a fragment of sky-blue glass; NL2 rectangular object of green glass; NL3 bead of opaque red glass; and NL4 blue glass. The red colour of NL3 is due to the combined effect of cuprous and ferrous oxides. The tinctorial agent of the blue glass is cuprous oxide and iron oxide is responsible for the green colour.
