AHICCHATRĀ, two specimens: AC1, blue glass and AC2 green glass, both of the 1st century. The specimens represent soda-lime-silicate glass and are characterized by a high proportion of lime and magnesia and a low content of the sesquioxides. The presence of lead (PbO) in AC2 is significant as the use of lead in glass-making in the 1st century is very rare. The blue colour is due to copper oxide and the green to the combined effect of copper and lead oxides.
