### [v1.c9.s14.t1.47](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.reference.ghosh-1989.v1.c9.s14.t1.47)

The late Harappans were succeeded by the people whose characteristic pottery was the black-painted buff or cream ware mainly made on the slow wheel and of coarser fabric than that of the late Harappa red ware of the preceding phase. They practised symbolic as well as partial burials. They had their own system of measurements as is indicated by the find of a couple of terracotta graduated rings.
