Remains of four stone circles and a monolithic pillar, 6·4 m in length, were reported from DEOSA (or Devanasa or Daivasa), 51·5 km to the e. of Jaipur on the Jaipur-Agra road at the foot of a hill. The diameter of these stone circles ranged from between 4·87 and 7·31 m. To the w. of the stone circles near Deosa were found several cairns and a large mound of earth, some of which contained fragments of calcined bones and ash. In one cairn were found the fragment of a stone knife or dagger, a stone ball and a quartz object. The large domical earthen mound, which was 3·65 m in height, 30·48 m in length and 16·15 m in breadth, contained ash and human bones placed inside pots, besides a long bone and jaw of some animal, perhaps horse (\*ibid\*., pp. 104-8). Singh, 1970, p. 139, located the cairns and a menhir at the site. Some circles have also been reported at KUCHERA near Nagaur in Rajasthan. They vary in diameter from 3·65 to 4·57 m (Cunningham, 1887, p. 49).
