### [v1.c9.s17.45](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.reference.ghosh-1989.v1.c9.s17.45)

Two types of megaliths, viz., cairn circle and cist circle, exist at KAKORIA, the orientation of the longer axes being both n.-s. and e.-w.; for both, a pit was dug into the natural soil. The cist circles were lined with stone pieces, three to four on one side, without port-hole. The floor of the cist was also made of stone pieces. Red sand was laid on the pit floors of a few cairn circles, though it was not a general practice. The grave goods, not uniformly arranged, included pottery, beads, microliths and, in one case, a gold ring. Skeletal material in a fragmentary condition was recovered from a few tombs only. The cists were sealed by capstones, but not the cairn circles.
