### [v1.c9.s17.98](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.reference.ghosh-1989.v1.c9.s17.98)

The skeletal remains from BRAHMAGIRI and MASKI indicate some racial elements of the builders: the autochthonous Australoid and proto-Australoid as Veddid types and a type similar to the al-Ubaid type and meso-brachy-cranial type probably of Scytho-Iranian stock known only from the megaliths. The people largely comprising the last racial element could be responsible for the introduction of the practice of megalithic erections \[see 4.17\].
