This Indo-Roman period is characterized by a fine ceramic usually referred to as the Red Polished Ware \[11.23\] which is represented by a variety of sprinklers. It is supposed to be the imitation of the Roman Samion Ware. Another object of classical origin is the rotary quern \[6.19.1\] which has also been found at several sites in the upper Deccan. Most of the sites have yielded terracotta figurines of kaolin produced from a double mould, a technique which is supposed to be of Roman origin \[17.2\].
