### [v1.c9.s3.26](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.reference.ghosh-1989.v1.c9.s3.26)

Though the earlier work in Dt Mayurbhanj by Bose and Sen \[4.2.5\] did not reveal Middle Palaeolithic remains, later investigations in Dts Keonjhar, Dhenkanal and Sundargarh have brought to light a number of localities of the phase (Mohapatra, 1962), with tools on several stones such as opal, chert, quartzite, quartz, jasper, shale and limestone. The industries retain the true scraper-point character with a complete absence of Acheulian tradition and of the Levallois element.
