In Punjab (India) and Haryana Sothi/Kalibangan relics are found at many a site, including two excavated ones—SISWAL and BANAWALI, respectively in the Dṛṣadvatī and Sarasvatī valleys, where the story of their priority as well as contemporaneity with the Harappa is repeated till the earlier features die out and only the latter dominate. ROPAR in the Sutlej valley has elements of the same culture mixed with mature Harappa ones. BARA in the same valley presents a complicated picture, with some Harappa material in the lower levels and an individualistic pottery with new painted designs. Modified Sothi elements have been detected at and analogies have been traced to some Baluchistan sites.
