\*\*Vadodara\*\* (22°17′; 73°15′), headquarters of the Dt of the same name, on the Vishvamitri, almost entirely built upon prehistoric and historical remains, making extensive excavation difficult. Stray discoveries of copper-plates and sculptures here and there and above all a cache of invaluable Jaina bronzes at the adjoining area of AKOTA (Shah, 1969) however proved the antiquity of the site.
