### [v1.c14.963](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.reference.malalasekera-1937.v1.c14.963)

It was about this time, when the Buddha’s fame was at its height, that the notorious Ciñcā-māṇavikā was persuaded by members of some hostile sect to bring a vile accusation against the Buddha. A similar story, told in connection with a paribbājikā named Sundarī, probably refers to a later date.
