### [v1.c21.393](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.reference.malalasekera-1937.v1.c21.393)

The Buddha spent three months in Tāvatimsa, preaching all the time, seated on Sakka's throne, the Paṇḍukambalasilāsana, at the foot of the Pāricchattaka tree. Eighty crores of devas attained to a knowledge of the truth. This was in the seventh year after his Enlightenment.¹⁰ It seems to have been the frequent custom of ascetics, possessed of iddhi-power, to spend the afternoon in Tāvatimsa.¹¹
