Distinct from other Purāṇas this book deals with arts and science like Kavyālaṅkāraṇāṭakas (Poems, dramas, figures of speech), Jyotiśśāstra (Astronomy) and Śilpakalā (architecture). This Purāṇa contains twelve thousand verses and is capable of imparting knowledge on all arts and sciences.
