Mahurā ( Mathurā ) Capital of Sūraseṇa(2), an Āriya country.¹ Its another name is Uttaramahurā.² There was a Jain tope (stūpa)³ which was claimed by the Buddhists.⁴ This place was a land-port.⁵ It was connected with Aṇamdapura by a land-route.⁶ There was a park called Bhaṃḍiravaḍeṃsia in Mahurā. Titthayara Pāsa(1) had visited it.⁷ The shrine of Yakṣa Sudamsana(20)⁸ situated in that park was visited by pilgrims.⁹ During the reign of king Suīdāma and the ministership of Subandhu(4) Titthayara Mahāvīra visited this city.¹⁰ Mahāvīra in one of his former births, (i. e.
