Saṇamda(3)⁶, Aṇamtavīriya,⁷ Pamḍu(1)⁸, Siva(7)⁹, Kaṇerudatta¹⁰, etc. reigned there. It has been the birth place of Cakkavaṭṭi Saṇamkumāra(3)¹¹. Cakkavaṭṭi(1) Bambhadatta visited it¹². Gamgadatta(4)¹³ and Sambhūya(2)¹⁴ died here with a resolve (\*nidāna\*). Hatthiṇāura was invaded by king Damadamta of Hatthisīsa during the reign of five Pamḍava¹⁵ brothers. It was made sacred by the visits of Titthayara Muṇisuvvaya(1), Pāsa(1), Mahāvīra and preceptor Dhammaghosa(5). They ordained here merchants like Kattia(2) and Gamgadatta(6)¹⁶, ladies like Satī and Amjū(3)¹⁷, king Siva(7), merchant Puṭṭhila(2)¹⁸ and prince Mahabbala(1)¹⁹. Householders like Bala(1)²⁰ and Sumbha(3)²², trappers like Bhīma(2) and Gottāsa(2)²² belonged to this place. It was predicted that prince Ṇamdiseṇa(6)²³, priest Vahassaidatta²⁴, merchant Umbaradatta(1)²⁵ and fisherman Soriyadatta(2)²⁶ would take rebirth in the families of some merchants of this city.
