Rajas is the menstrual fluid. Its source, or station, is in the place of the sun, the circle of the sun full of a mass of flame, very bright, in the navel. It is Śakti.⁶ It is rajas that drinks the soma (= bindu) falling from the moon. The symbolism of the descriptions represents the creative act according to the philosophy of the Śāktas, and the energy of the soul in the various levels or cakras, where the two principles are brought together.
