Śubhacandra was the author of the *Jīvakacarita*⁷⁷² or *-tantra*, dealing with the life of Jīvaka, the famous physician of Buddhist literature. The work is assigned to the sixteenth century.⁷⁷³ It is referred to in another work of the same author, the *Bṛhatpāṇḍavapurāṇa*.⁷⁷⁴
