For a fuller appreciation of the details of mensuration presented by the \*śulbakāras\* in these chapters, a general idea regarding the plan of the sacrificial ground and the various fires and altars mentioned will be helpful. These details have been given at various places of the \*Brāhmaṇas\*, particularly of the \*Yajurveda\* school.
