yathā (10.47.19)--
vayam ṛtam iva jihma-vyāhṛtaṃ śraddadhānāḥ
kulika-rutam ivājñāḥ kṛṣṇa-vadhvo hariṇyaḥ
dadṛśur asakṛd etat tan-nakha-sparśa-tīvra-

As in [the Bhāgavata Purāṇa]:
"Trusting his crooked words as if they were true,
like simple female deer believing the song of a hunter,
the wives of Kṛṣṇa repeatedly experienced this,
suffering the sharp pangs of love from the touch of his nails. O messenger, speak of something else!"
