5.83

atha vipralabdhā-
kṛtvā saṅketam aprāpte daivāj jīvita-vallabhe |
vyathamānāntarā proktā vipralabdhā manīṣibhiḥ |
nirveda-cintā-khedāśru-mūrcchā-niḥśvasitādi-bhāk //

Now, the deceived heroine (vipralabdhā):
When the beloved of her life does not arrive after fixing an appointment, due to fate,
she whose inner heart suffers distress is called the deceived heroine (vipralabdhā) by the wise,
experiencing despondency, anxiety, sorrow, tears, fainting, sighing, and the like.
