Kāvyālaṅkāra 4.22

sūtrakṛtpādakāreṣṭaprayogādyo 'nyathā bhavet
tamāptaśrāvakāsiddheḥ śabdahīnaṃ viduryathā //
That which is contrary to the usage approved by the author of the Sūtras and the author of the Vārttikas,
they know as ungrammatical (śabdahīna), because it is not established by trustworthy authorities, as follows:
