3-nā-nā-568 kṛṣṇastu keśave vyāse kokile'rjunakākayoḥ | 3-nā-nā-569 śūdre tāmiratrapakṣe'gniralinīlaguṇeṣu ca 3-nā-nā-570 kṛṣṇā tu draupadīnīlīharakrūreṣvapi triṣu | 3-nā-nā-571 pippalyāṃ ca tulasyāṃ ca klībe lohamarīcayo ḥ | 570 3-nā-nā-572 durite mecake dravye'tho śreṇi ḥ kārusaṃhatau | 3-nā-nā-573 rathyāpaḍ3-nā-nā-5 ttau sekapātre nitambe śroṇīriṣyate |

Kṛṣṇa [signifies] Keśava, Vyāsa, the cuckoo, Arjuna, a crow, / a Śūdra, the dark fortnight, Agni, a black bee, and the quality of darkness;
kṛṣṇā [means] Draupadī, indigo, and in the three [genders], cruel; / [and in the feminine], long pepper and basil; in the neuter, iron and black pepper;
sin, black, [and] a substance. Now śreṇi [means] a guild of artisans; / śroṇī is held to mean a row of streets, a sprinkling vessel, and a hip.
