prācyapācīpratīcyastāḥ pūrvadakṣiṇapaścimāḥ|
uttarā digudīcī syāddiśyaṃ tu triṣu digbhave ||

These [feminine nouns] are east, south, and west: prācī, apācī, and pratīcī, [which are synonymous with] pūrvā, dakṣiṇā, and paścimā. / The northern direction is udīcī [or uttarā]; but diśya is in three [genders] for whatever exists in a direction.
