nāṭakaṃ saprakaraṇaṃ bhāṇaḥ prahasanaṃ ḍimaḥ /
vyāyogasamavakārau vīthyaṅkehāmṛgā iti //

‘[The ten chief varieties of drama are]: the Nāṭaka, the Prakaraṇa, the Bhāṇa, the Prahasana, the Ḍima, the Vyāyoga, the Samavakāra, the Vīthī, the Aṅka (=Utsṛṣṭikāṅka), and the Ihāmṛga.’
