nava-kāmā, yathā mamaiva-
bālā prasādhana-vidhau nidadhāti cittaṃ
dattādarā pariṇaye maṇi-putrikāṇām |
ālajjate nija-sakhī-jana-manda-hāsair
ālakṣyate tad iha bhāva-navāvatāraḥ ||
Possessing fresh desire, as in my own verse: / "The girl fixes her mind on the business of adornment; / she shows devotion to the marriage of jeweled dolls; / she feels embarrassed by the gentle smiles of her companions; / here, therefore, the fresh descent of love is perceived."
