tatrāha rudraṭaḥ-(śṛ.ti. 1.69)
īrṣyā kula-strīṣu na nāyakasya
niḥśaṅka-kelir na parāṅganāsu |
veśyāsu caitad dvitayaṃ prarūḍhaṃ
sarvasvam etās tad aho smarasya ||

There Rudraṭa says: (Śṛṅgāratilaka 1.69) / "The hero has no jealousy toward women of good family, / nor uninhibited sport with the wives of others; / but both of these flourish in courtesans; / therefore, oh, they are the very essence of the god of love!"
