etasmin mada-kala-mallikākṣa-pakṣa-
vyādhūta-sphurad-uru-daṇḍa-puṇḍarīkāḥ |
bāṣpāmbhaḥ paripatanodgamāntarāle
dṛśantām avirahita-śriyo vibhāgāḥ ||
[An example] of an oblong pond:
"In this [pond], where the white lotuses with large, tremulous stalks are shaken by the wings of wild geese intoxicated and soft-voiced,
let its parts, their splendor never lost,
be seen in the intervals between the falling and rising of the tears!"
