yathā-
etasmān māṃ kuśalinam abhijñāna-dānād viditvā
mā kaulīnād asita-nayane mayy aviśvāsinī bhūḥ |
snehān āhuḥ kim api virahe dhvaṃsinas te tv abhogād
iṣṭe vastuny upacita-rasāḥ prema-rāśī-bhavanti ||
As in:
“Knowing me to be well from this giving of a token of recognition,
do not, O dark-eyed one, lose trust in me on account of public gossip;
people say that affections are somehow destroyed in separation, but rather,
from lack of enjoyment their aesthetic sentiment increases for the cherished object, and they become a mass of love.”
