yathā -
hṛtvā śantanu-nandanasya turagān sūtaṃ kurūṇāṃ guroś
chittvā droṇa-sutasya kārmuka-latāṃ kṛtvā visaṃjñaṃ kṛpam |
karṇasyāpi rathaṃ vidārya kaṇaśo vidrāvya cānyad balaṃ
tvat-putro bhaya-vidravat-kurupateḥ panthānam anvety ayam ||
For example:
"Having slain the horses of Śantanu's son, having severed the charioteer of the Kurus' preceptor,
having broken the creeper-like bow of Droṇa's son, and having rendered Kṛpa unconscious;
having smashed Karṇa's chariot to bits and scattered the rest of the army,
this son of yours now follows the path of the lord of the Kurus, who flees in terror."
