yathā-
janasya sāketa-nivāsinas tau
dvāv apy abhūtām abhinandya-sattvau |
guru-pradeyādhika-niḥspṛho' rthī
nṛpo' rthi-kāmād adhika-pradaś ca ||
As [in the following verse]: / To the people dwelling in Sāketa both of them / were of admirable character: / the petitioner had no desire for more than what was to be given to his guru, / and the king gave far more than what the petitioner desired.
