guru-bhaktyā, yathā-
tiṣṭhan bhāti pituḥ puro bhuvi yathā siṃhāsane kiṃ tathā
yat saṃvāhayataḥ sukhaṃ hi caraṇau tātasya kiṃ rājyataḥ |
kiṃ bhukte bhuvana-traye dhṛtir asau bhuktojjhite yā guror
āyāsaḥ khalu rājyam ujjhita-guros tatrāsti kaścid guṇaḥ ||
[Contentment] through devotion to a guru, as in:
Does standing on the ground before his father shine as it does on a throne? / Does that pleasure which comes from massaging his father's feet come indeed from kingship? / Is there that contentment in enjoying the three worlds which exists in what is left after the elder's enjoyment? / Royalty is indeed toil when the elder has been abandoned; is there any merit in that?
