manorathasya lābhena, yathā-
nivāta-padma-stimitena cakṣuṣā
nṛpasya kāntaṃ pibataḥ sutānanam |
mahodadheḥ pūra ivendu-darśanād
guruḥ praharṣaḥ prababhūva nātmani ||
[Joy] through obtaining a wish, as in:
As the king drank in his son’s lovely face / with eyes motionless as a windless lotus, / an immense joy, like the swell of the great ocean at the sight of the moon, / could not be contained within himself.
