idaṃ kim āryeṇa kṛtaṃ mamāṅge
mugdhe kim etad racitaṃ tvayeti |
tayoḥ kriyānteṣv anubhoga-cihnaiḥ
smitottaro' bhūt kuhanāvirodhaḥ ||
As [in]:
"'What has my noble lord done to my body?'
'Innocent one, what is this that you have made [on mine]?'
At the end of their acts, by the marks of enjoyment,
their feigned conflict ended in a smile."
2.422.p1
atra lakṣmī-nārāyaṇayor anyonya-mānasya paraspara-kṛta-bhoga-cihna-lakṣaṇa-kāraṇābhāsa-janitasya smitottaratayā svayaṃ śāntir avagamyate |
Here, the mutual pique of Lakṣmī and Nārāyaṇa, which arose from a semblance of a cause characterized by mutual marks of enjoyment, is understood to subside spontaneously by ending in smiles.
