yathā-
utphulla-gaṇḍa-maṇḍalam ullasita-dṛg-anta-sūcitākūtam |
namayantyāpi mukhāmbujam unnamitaṃ rāga-sāmrājyam ||

For example:
"Though she bowed her lotus face, its cheek-circles blossomed,
revealing her inner feeling by the play of her eye-corners;
yet she elevated the supreme sovereignty of passion."

atra gaṇḍa-maṇḍala-vikāsa-dṛg-antollāsābhyāṃ nāyikāyāḥ smitaṃ vyajyate |

Here, by the blooming of the cheeks and the flashing of the eye-corners, the smile (smita) of the heroine is manifested.
