yathā-
aṃhaḥ-śeṣair iva parivṛto makṣikāmaṇḍalībhiḥ
pūya-klinnaṃ vraṇam abhimṛśan vāsasaḥ khaṇḍakena |
rathopānte drutam apasṛtaṃ saṅkucan netra-koṇaṃ
channa-ghrāṇaṃ racayati janaṃ dadru-rogī daridraḥ ||

For example:
Surrounded by swarms of flies as if by the remnants of his sins,
touching with a rag a sore oozing with pus,
a poor man afflicted with ringworm causes people to step quickly aside
at the street's edge, squinting their eyes and covering their noses.

2.500.p1

atra dardu-rogi-viṣayā rathyā-jana-jugupsā makṣikā-pūyādibhir uddīpitā tvarāpasaraṇānumitair viṣādādibhiḥ poṣitā netra-saṅkocanādibhir abhivyaktā bībhatsatām āpnoti |

Here, the disgust felt by people on the street toward the ringworm sufferer, stimulated by the flies, pus, and so forth, developed by despair and other states inferred from their hasty withdrawal, and manifested by consequents such as squinting of the eyes, attains the nature of the odious sentiment.
