haṃho puṣpaka-vāyu-vega-muninā dhūmaḥ puraḥ pīyate
chāyāṃ mā kuru ko' py ayaṃ dina-maṇāv ekāgra-dṛṣṭiḥ sthitaḥ |
dūrād atra bhava pradakṣiṇa-gatiḥ sthāṇor idaṃ mandiraṃ
kiñcit tiṣṭha tapasvinas tava puro yāvat paryānty adhvanaḥ ||
“O Puṣpaka, by the speed of the wind smoke is swallowed before an ascetic; / do not cast a shadow—someone here stands with his gaze fixed upon the sun! / From afar proceed clockwise around this place, for this is a shrine of Śiva; / halt for a moment until the ascetics cross the path ahead of you!”
