āyuṣmataḥ kila lavasya narendra-sainyair
āyodhanaṃ nanu kim āttha sakhe tatheti |
adyāstam etu bhuvaneṣu sa rāja-śabdaḥ
kṣattrasya śastra-śikhinaḥ śamam adya yāntu ||

"Is there indeed a battle between long-lived Lava and the king's armies, / do you really say that it is so, friend? / Today let the word 'king' set in the worlds; / today let the weapon-fires of the warrior class be extinguished!"
