tatra gūḍhārtha-pada-paryāya-kramād udghātyakaṃ, yathā vīrabhadra-vijṛmbhita-nāmani ḍime-
sakhe ko' yaṃ raudraḥ kathaya mahitaḥ ko' pi hi raso
raso nāmāyaṃ kaḥ smṛti-surabhir āsvāda-mahimā |
samāsvādaḥ ko' yaṃ krama-galita-vedyāntara-matir
mano' vasthā jñātaṃ nanu vadasi nidrāntaram iti ||

Among these, the opening transition through a sequence of synonyms for words with hidden meanings is as in the ḍima named Vīrabhadravijṛmbhita: / "Friend, what is this furious [sentiment]? Tell me! Indeed, it is a certain celebrated aesthetic sentiment. / What is this thing called aesthetic sentiment? It is the greatness of aesthetic tasting that is fragrant with memory. / What is this complete aesthetic tasting? A state of mind in which the thought of any other knowable object has fallen away in sequence. / I understand! Are you indeed speaking of another form of sleep?"

Here, because of the conversation between the actor and the stage-manager through synonyms for words with hidden meanings that define the state of tasting aesthetic sentiment in order to discern the nature of the furious sentiment, this is the first kind of opening transition.
