May the supreme crest-jewel of the sole lineage of the sun, the jewel protecting the three worlds, / the sincere disciple of the great sage Viśvāmitra, the foremost among the Raghus, / Rāma, who struck down Tāṭakā—what else?—Nārāyaṇa incarnate before our eyes, / the festival for the eyes of Kausalyā, the son of the terrestrial Kaśyapa [Daśaratha], be victorious!
