One brought Mount Kailāsa into his hand; the other cleaved Krauñca. / One seized Laṅkā from Kubera; the other, the Koṅkaṇa [lands] from the ocean for a dwelling. / One was the conqueror of Śakra in battle; the other, of the divine Kārtikeya. / Therefore, truly, since their exploits are equal, is there any wonder that the Fortune of Heroism stands between the two?’
3.53.p2
ity antena rāghava-pratināyakayor bhārgava-rāvaṇayoḥ karma-sāmya-nirṇaya-kathanād yuktiḥ |
Ending with this, there is determination (yukti) because of the statement determining the equality of deeds between Bhārgava and Rāvaṇa, the two rivals of Rāghava.
